Yooperlites are fluorescent rocks that glow orange, red, or pink under ultraviolet (UV) light. They are found in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, along the shores of Lake Superior, and in inland gravel pits. Yooperlites are the colloquial name for sodalitesyenite, a sodium aluminosilicate igneous rock that crystallizes from sodium-rich magmas.
